Alkagesta said it attended Miller’s DayWithMiller workshops and Annual Cocktail Event in Paris on 8 October 2026, alongside more than 400 participants from the commodity finance and risk sectors. According to the company’s account, those attending included commodity traders, banks, investment funds, development finance institutions, insurers and reinsurers. The announcement described a gathering focused on the financing and risk arrangements supporting physical commodity trading.

Miller’s Credit, Surety and Political Risk team organised the workshop programme, which formed the main part of the day. Alkagesta said industry speakers addressed trade credit, political risk and commodity risk management. Discussions covered credit and surety arrangements as well as marine cargo and political risk insurance, bringing together several of the financing and protection mechanisms used across commodity flows.

The company described the workshops as an opportunity to discuss the frameworks and instruments supporting commodity trading and to examine how institutions manage risk and compliance. Its account presented these subjects as part of an increasingly complex operating environment. It did not identify individual speakers or provide details of particular transactions, insurance placements or financing agreements arising from the discussions.

An evening reception followed the workshops, allowing participants to continue contacts across the commodity industry’s finance and insurance community. Alkagesta linked its participation to its own stated priorities: strengthening its risk management framework, building relationships with insurance and reinsurance counterparties, and demonstrating the compliance and governance standards it says support its international trading activities.

Alkagesta said its operations cover petroleum products, biofuels, fertilisers and steel across approximately 48 countries. It described its network of trade finance, risk and insurance partners as central to carrying out those activities responsibly. These statements reflect the company’s account of its business and priorities; the announcement reported attendance and engagement rather than a new financing facility, insurance contract or operational expansion.
